Reparative treatment

Reparative treatment

Reparative treatment is a layer that presents the current model of treatment in Poland. In reparative medicine treatment is undertaken when a patient reports with a serious health problem and when a disease has caused irreparable damage. Removal of effects caused by specific diseases does not guarantee reconstruction of the previous health condition. Reparative treatment is a final and expensive solution, so it is necessary to strive to reduce actions at this level. In order to achieve it, the majority of health problems should be solved at higher levels of the structure according to the rule that prevention is better than cure. Reparative treatment is not able to improve health and reduce morbidity. It is possible only by taking complex actions in the area of health promotion in the whole society.

A multilayer structure of the health care system

A multilayer structure of the health care system is composed of nine protective layers of the society whose task is to limit the harmful impact of diseases and to change the present model of treatment. It combines the areas of reparative medicine and preventive medicine.
